Pictures sent by Gilad, Eitan's brother

I am sorry to notify the SES members that Eitan Shpitzer passed away in 2005.

Eitan and his brother have been favorites at the SES annual conference.  He will be missed by all the participants this year.

Jerry Winberry provided the following commentary to Peter Westlin about Jerry’s recent visit with Eitan, and said we could share it with you.

"As you recall, I gave a 1-week stack testing for hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) course last January in Israel. As part of my visit, I made friends with Eitan Spitzer who has one of the largest stack testing companies in Israel (AS Research Services). Matter of fact, on my first night there Eitan invited me to his father's house for a birthday party. (I have attached several pictures documenting the historical meeting!)

His father was the first stack sampler in Israel. What an enjoyable evening talking with them and learning from their experiences. What a friend Eitan became. Well, last week Eitan died from a blood clot in a major coronary artery while driving and the rest is history. As you know, he was only 35.

I know that Eitan was a regular participant in the SES meetings here in the US. I do not know all of his friends here in the US, but if you could mention it during the upcoming meeting, it would mean a lot to his friends and family in Israel.

I call Ms. Aviva Trehtman of the State of Israel Air Quality group and asked for telephone numbers to Eithan's wife and parents. If you are interested in calling his wife (Noa) or his parents (Shamay and Shoshana) to express your sympathy, please contact Gail Westlin at 919-544-6338 (or email her at gail_westlin@yahoo.com) to get the telephone numbers.

It would be great if several members of SES would phone and convey our feeling for their loss during this period of sadness."

Thanks

Jerry Winberry
